a trip down memory lane..

today i went on a small road trip. been a while since i went anywhere with my friends.. today the destination was Seri Manjung. our objective, go and accompany fazly to the said destination and wait for him while he did his work.

the original plan was to leave ttdi at 9. all fazly had to do was to pick up hadiid, arip and me before leaving and i will do all the driving from there on. but, as all economist would say, caterus paribus, which by the way means "everything else remains equal" and the face that we are malays, we actually left ttdi at around 10.

first pit stop of the day came early as we stopped for a bite to eat at rawang rest stop. fazly drove from ttdi to rawang and after that i took over. the road was horrible as most parts of the highway was closed down to 1 single lane from rawang to slim river. it was painfully slow. the road opened up from slim river onwards and that is where i had the opportunity to put my foot down. ther was no more pitstops until we reached the town of gopeng after exiting the highway. we stopped by the shell at the town to buy some drink and snacks.

from there went straight to majung. along the way, i became the local tour guide as we passed kellie's castle, the town of batu gajah, UTP, UiTM perak (which is my former home away from home for 3 years), the town of bota, air tawar and sitiawan before finally reaching the hospital where fazly had to do his work.

we dropped fazly off at the storage department and parked under a tree where the 3 of us slept for a short while. arip dreamt that he got kicked while sleeping, even though he did not fall asleep for too long. we eventually got bored and decided to go back to the store and see fazly in action. which was pretty much looking at him looking at the computer.

fazly finished work at 4 and we got in the car and headed straight to lumut. lumut is a small town that served as the port for our royal navy and a jetty for tourist who wants to go to pankor island. we didn't stay long in lumut. just took some pictures and left. from lumut we headed straight back to sri iskandar(where the UiTM is) to have a bite to eat. after the meal we stopped by UTP and its beautiful mosque to pray, and headed back home the way we came.

its been a while since i went that far up from my campus. a lot of things have change since those days of roaming up and down the ipoh-lumut freeway. the last i went there was a bout a year ago and it was at night. its hard to appreciate how much things have changed in the time i left when its dark, so todays little trip has showed me how things can easily change in a short time
